PSP price dropped in Europe

Just weeks after the US price cuts, PSP\'s in UK and Europe get new price along with 5 new Platinum titles.

Sony has smiled on British handheld gamers as the recently dropped price of the PSP in the US has been extended to Europe, along with a reduced price for Platinum titles.

Back at the beginning of April, after months of 'ruling it out,' Sony announced that the PlayStation Portable would be getting a price cut in the US, bringing the. Sony remained tight-lipped as to when, or even if, those across the pond would be treated to similar savings.

Sony confirmed today that the PSP will be priced as low as 129.99 (down from 149.99 in the UK, effective from May 4. The portable will also get a price drop across the rest of Europe to 169 euros. The US core price of the core went down $30 to $169.99.

Along with the hardware pricing cut comes five new Platinum titles released at a new price of 14.99--Ridge Racer 2, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Killzone: Liberation, LocoRoco, and MotoGP.

"PSP is unique and is constantly evolving. It offers the widest palette of mobile entertainment, from gaming to video, music, photos and internet," said SCE UK managing director Ray Maguire. "But now the exciting possibility of connecting remotely to PS3 makes PSP more relevant than ever. So what better time to offer a brand new price point, and the launch of five new Platinum titles?"
