Oh how I love the way this world works... everyone has something to say when it hits to close to home, otherwise they keep shut. All I have to say to NY is, WAH!!
exaaaaaactly.....it's just a fricken video game anyway!!!!! Damn quit whining and let us have some fun!
I think its funny that they make statements about the game, having no idea about how the scoring or achievements work. In no way does the game series glamorize violence against police officers.
what? you are a typical mumbo jumbo talker. go back to camp you excrement.
gta4 rocks! I cant wait to shoot a virtual guiliani in his fat cheating on his wife face. I hate emerica. i-gta4
Better to do it in a game than in REAL LIFE!!!
I wonder if you can sodomize a minority and get extra points? Any comment Guiliani?
The next time someone tells me that playing video games makes me violent, I'm gonna hack them up with a machete, that's how wrong they are.
I wonder if I'd get bonus points if I did it left handed?
It's Bloomberg, Not Guiliani....but if it were, that is a good point.
oooohhhhhh.... burn!
Honestly folk, how many movies, books, songs, plays etc etc have glamorized the gang culture of New York? Ever seen WestSide story? Not necessarily glamorizing it, but still... And the Godfather? I want to know why nobody complains about those, but GTA is getting all this flak!
I will enjoy gunning down NYPD muhahaha
I love GTA and no, it doesn't really give you points for killing regular cops, but in San Andreas you definitely had to kill cops as part of the storyline. The finale was a showdown with 2 cops, one of the cops was played by Samuel Jackson.
You can't just arbitrarily say that the killing of cops or commission of crimes in a game is just 'bad', these games have a deep, nuanced storyline. That's why they are so immersive. Crime movies have just as much violence and are accepted, even win Oscars.(The Departed)
OH NO not virtual violence. It might make someone go crazy and say something or become a terrorist because they saw it in a video game. If thats the way some people are going to be then those people shouldent play the game.
It's a video game for a reason, suck it up boys.
With respect to the correlation between video games and motion pictures, TaskerFiveApr has made some very good points. Much like movies, video games are a form of art and can be interpreted in many different ways. Furthermore, no research to this date has been able to prove a definitive relationship between violent human behavior and video games.
More perplexing, however, is how the representatives of New York City are not seeing an advantage in Rockstar's choice to promote their city in a video game. Whether it’s attracting big business, increasing tourism or fighting to have their hometown featured in the next blockbuster, cities spend millions of dollars advertising and promoting in an attempt to gain national and international visibility.
Oh but a movie in NY where cops die is okay........or drugs, or real life. But a game, this is stupid
Bloomberg is a landsnark who sniffs bicycle seats. NO SMOKING BECAUSE I DON'T SMOKE. TRANS-FATS ARE ILLEGAL BECAUSE I KNOW HOW YOU SHOULD EAT. NO MORE LESBIANISM BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A VERJEEN!
He's a hypocrite and a small Napoleon.
The officials should try focusing on something a bit more important...
Its funny how serious people can take this game.
I wish people wouldn't take it so seriously; its just a game. Maybe the people who complain and get all upset about the violence are the ones who have a hard time telling the difference between game and reality.
