Big Willy Unleashed... CANCELLED!
Leading videogame publisher THQ has dropped a bit of a software bombshell this week thanks to a piece of thoroughly unwanted news for established and expectant fans of the popular Destroy All Humans! franchise.
California-based THQ Inc., which has recently found acclaim with the likes of Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 and MX vs ATV: Untamed, has revealed that the PlayStation 2 version of humour-laced action title Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed has been canned.
Gaming site IGN lays claim to the discovery of the cancellation, which it outlines was uncovered during an e-mail session with an unnamed THQ representative. No official comment has been offered up by the videogame entertainment company at the time of publication.

Notice of the cancellation will arrive as something of a surprise for faithful PlayStation 2 owners, not least because the long-serving platform boasts a massive consumer base and continues to outsell its PlayStation 3 successor in the hotly contested hardware arena.
THQ’s move will not affect the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo Wii versions of Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed!, which are on track for a release on March 04.
Similarly, the arrival of Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon on Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is also unaffected. Big Willy Unleashed will arrive as a prequel to Path of the Furon, the latter of which is expected to blast onto retail shelves some time in the spring.
