i would have to agree that the genre is not going toward death it is being shoved toward it more to the point. companies that make tons of money off of adventure games are now going console/action instead. take black isle games from interplay they had some of the best rpg/adventure type games around for pc now its all console and after the fiasco of brotherhood of steel for ps2 they are thinking of canning all of the rpg aspects. they already fired everyone in the studio and turned it into just a name brand sticker pretty much. but the adventure company with partner dreamcatcher games and also ubisoft and tell tale games and her interactive all see the value and market of adventure games and keep expanding on it. like her interactive is thinking of expanding the nancy drew games now to nancy drew and also the hardy boys too. its far from dead and it seems that its coming back as a genre.
