The Foris FS2332 is a 23" monitor with an IPS panel and LED backlight that's great for gaming, movies, reading, and everything in between.
The Foris FS2332 is an impressive monitor that delivers a very pleasing image.
The monitor's IPS panel has 178° viewing angles, meaning you'll have a good view without having to sit dead center—great for the occasions when you're watching a movie or gaming with a second person seated next to you. The LED backlight helps keep cash in your wallet by reducing power consumption, while providing a bright view that's easy on the eyes.
The monitor's best asset is its bright, yet soft presentation. Usually with many other monitors on the market, your eyes become fatigued because they're too bright. You'll have to constantly adjust the brightness throughout the day, especially at night when it feels like headlights are being pointed at your eyes. This isn't the case with the FS2332. Even at its highest brightness, it is easy on the eyes, and if you prefer, the monitor can automatically adjust your brightness throughout the day with the use of a built-in ambient brightness sensor called “Auto EcoView” that detects changes in ambient lighting and adjusts accordingly.
The FS2332 is a Full HD monitor that includes two HDMI inputs, one DVI-D and one D-Sub input which means you're covered regardless of what video-out port your graphics card supports. The multiple inputs make it easy to connect a computer and other devices such as a video game console, a Blu-ray Disc player, or a cable box. When you want to switch, simply select the appropriate input with the included remote control or by pressing the Signal button on the front of the monitor. Speaking of the remote control, make sure you don't lose it as it's the only way to access the menu screen. The monitor itself only has buttons for Power, Volume Up/Down (it's got built-in speakers, but I wouldn't bother with them at all), and Signal.
The monitor also features various preset modes, including a Game mode that can best be described as vibrant. It pushes colors and sharpness to bring out detail. This mode is of course completely dependent on user preference. Just because it includes this preset doesn't mean you need to enable it every time you play a game. The same goes for the other modes, which include Paper and Cinema. I suggest trying the presets out first and if they're not to your liking, you can create your own User modes.
Another cool feature that the FS2332 includes is called “Smart Resolution.” This feature analyzes stills and videos for noise and blurring and then adjusts them to appear more clear and natural. What makes Smart Resolution a valuable feature is it only adjusts the image in areas where it is needed. In a web page with text and video, Smart Resolution will leave the text as is but make the video sharper. Or in a photograph, it may detect that adjustment to hair is necessary, but make skin appear more natural.
Overall, the Foris FS2332 is an impressive monitor that delivers a very pleasing image and features that make the user experience more enjoyable than traditional monitors. Its high caliber image coupled with its sleek design and tough build quality make the Foris FS2332 an easy recommendation for anyone looking to purchase a new monitor.
