Capcom announced that Resident Evil 5 for PC has shipped today. The PC version of the game will feature Games for Window LIVE support, new costumes, an improved Mercenaries mode and a new 3D effect.
Utilizing the new NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision technology (wireless 3D Vision glasses sold separately), players will get to experience stereoscopic 3D out of screen effects. Not only will players get to experience the stereoscopic 3D effects during game play, but during cinematic cut scenes as well – an industry first.
To celebrate the launch, Intel has come together with Capcom to create a Facebook application for Resident Evil fans called the Majini Makeover which can be found at apps.facebook.com/majini. The application allows fans who are Facebook users to transform a regular photo into a Resident Evil 5 inspired Majini. On top of that, fans can enter to win an Ultra RE5/Intel package which includes a grand prize of a Mobile Intel Core i7 based laptop computer, copies of the game, Resident Evil collectibles, and five top of the line Intel Core i7 processors. Resident Evil 5 for PC has been optimized for the Core i7 and takes full advantage of its multi-core technology for increased performance.
