LOL! They said that about Halo, Halo2, AND Gears of War. When sales for the XBox 360 start to trickle, they WILL release a PC version 'being the money hounds they are' to soak up any additional business they can do with their now spent product. They just want to try to get more people to buy their Game System so they make people believe that a much desired game like Halo Wars is exclusive to their platform. Hey, it's business. Why would they kill 360 sales by telling you a PC version will eventually come out?
How can Microsoft be so stooopid. They will make so much more money if they release it on pc, rts's were born for computer not consoles. Battle For Middle Earth II on Xbox sucked sooooooo much, it is too hard to control.

Hmm i played command & conquer on console, it was terrible. I guess since halo wars is not going to be on pc, i'll just have to spend all my time playing Starcraft 2 :)

It will be on PC eventually, probably in about a year, however no one will be interested in it by then anyway. Whats with all you PC fan boys bashing the 360. GIVE IT UP!! the 360 isn't a bad console. For all the people that can't afford an expensive gaming PC the 360 is a good alternative.

At least now I don't have to worry about paying a thousand dollars for a graphics card / new computer to play one game on my PC. I'm down for this idea.
i love this sort of games but i like to play them on console because with pc games u have buy memory graphic card and so on with console its 1 time fee and u can play all the games i think they will make halo wars for pc in year or 2 but not everyone is pc gamer xbox control is simple easy to work out with keyboard and mouse its more to do

RTS games are not ment for consoles. PC's will always have the best selling RTS games. I will not buy this game for xbox.
I played the demo the other day and for those who are worried about the controls, I think they work just fine. This is going to be one hell of game and will set a new standard for RTS games on consoles.
This is BS that Halo Wars won't be for the PC. The first 2 games are on the pc now and the third will be aswell, plus an RTS was first designed for the pc not a game counsel!
Microsoft has screwed themselfs by not making Halo Wars for the PC as well.

You guys are gonna have to be patient. It will eventually be released on pc, but it's going to take time. Ms said the exact same thing about both halo games and they ended up on pc. Just give it about a year and once sales for halo war have slowed down the pc version will be released. If you can't wain that long buy a 360, there pretty cheap now a days.

The reason they're not saying that they might make it for PC is probably 'cause if they said they did have plans for a pc version of halo war a few people who might have bought the 360 for halo wars won't, they'll just wait for the pc version.

No HALO WARS for PC ? Who needs it? COMMAND AND CONUER RED ALERT 3 suits me fine, in fact, with that kind of attitude from MICROSOFT, I think I will put them to the bottom of my list when considering any purchases for my PC with immediate effect Games, Peripherals etc etc. I will spread the word in my gameing community.
Too bad, but I doubt it will never make it to PC. Maybe Win 7, but in any case, like GoW and Halo/Halo 2 it will come out in a year or so. Of course Ensemble is gone now, so it will have to be ported by a new studio.

first off, I would like to say that I am still running Windows XP Pro (complete and purchased, not hacked) and it runs perfectly on my XPS 410 (which cost me nothing more than another computer because the XPS wasn't running correctly, so I traded mine for the XPS). Anyway, I hate windows vista because you can't do anything other than use the dang system as is. Vista is nothing more than a resource eating 'bells & whistles' OS. in other words, it looks good and operates fine if you are only doing one or ... no just one thing at a time. Anyway, back to the subject. 360 is not a bad console but is (as has already been stated) not suited for RTS games. I think Microsoft is retarded in the first place and this comment that they won't be putting Halo Wars out for PC simply confirms my beliefs.
I own most of the C&C games (including RA3) I enjoy them all, but, halo is the ultimate game around (I think) and Microsoft should pull their heads out of their behinds and make it for the windows platform on top of taking out windows vista altogether, improving Windows XP instead.
for win vista, businesses who have spent multi-hundreds of thousands or even millions of $'s into their computers and networks are having to go back to Windows XP after spending even MORE trying to upgrade to Vista and having it not work for them. If windows vista doesn't work right, then what will happen when they try to put windows7 on the market? they just need to fix these problems and get over themselves. I refuse to buy a console. I had one of the early versions and it sucked so much. I have played Xbox 360 at a friends and it still sucks.
My friends come to my home to play on my PC game system. Nothing like playing Crysis, warhammer, Mass Effect, Far Cry 2, Half life Series just to name a few.
Microsoft is trying to force people into the Xbox console in their bid to make a single platform. Thus microsoft would rather have a game that sucks than actually produce something good.
Halo 3 Sucked by the way. Thus Microsoft is trying to keep the Halo brand alive.
Microsoft will lose about 30 million in sales. But I can tell you, Blizzard will cream everyone when they finally release Star Craft II for the PC. They already have over 3 million units presold. Halo 3 never came close to that!
Half life 2 EP2 and Orange box for the PC also out sold Halo 3.
So no I will not waist time and money on a worthless platform called a console.
They should realy put it on pc cause i ave been testing rts games on consoles for 3 months now and i know tat halo wars will be a hit but
xbox 360 will be realy hard to control. :(

No need to be kiddish... There are many good game around apart from Halo. Play them around and after a year or so Halo will also be out.
XBOX 360 is sold to you below the production cost so that you can easily afford it, and then Microsoft make money from each game sold (even if they are not from Microsoft). This is the reason the same game is cheaper for PC then for XBOX. MS need to recover the cost of the hardware that they sold to you and then after that make money. So they need to make sure that you purchase the software of XBOX, if you do not purchase Halo for PC it will be of less interest to them as Windows you have already purchased.
The Microsoft strategy has been to release the next version of Halo on XBOX 360, and then release the previous version to PC. The same will be true for this. Halo wars will come after the next version (this time a prequel) to Halo is published on XBOX.
Even if there is no next version as soon as the sales of Halo Wars on XBOX trickles down Microsoft will milk the it through PC (or who knows.. even through PS3). It business!
i own a xbox 360 and 3 gaming computers nicklang319 is right the console isnt a bad choice for pc gamers lol most of the games on 360 have close too the same graphics as the pc virsions. but 360 for strategy games the 360 is a huge letdown its just not meant for strategy games pc owns in that genre so i really do hope they bring out halo wars on pc i love all of the halo series. i wonder if they will do the same with gears of war like make a strategy game of it after the third gears comes out if there is one lol
Designing a game just so players have to buy the console just to play it on is just another of microsofts screw-ups. I'm taking my Halo games and trading them in now. I only use PC games when I want to game and buying something that's restricted to this and that, stinks in my book. They should look at gaming as a whole, not just a half. If they really want to make money, they shouldn't go about it in this manner. Everyone I know that plays Halo, plays it on a PC.
I typically download all my games from the internet for the low low cost of free. I have recently begun buying games for various reasons; professional life giving me the money, desire to see more games get created, etc... But I refuse to buy a gaming console. I'm a computer technician and I prefer my computer to be called a computer, consoles are no longer consoles... Release a game on a pc (via steam or other direct download) and there is a much higher chance I will buy it. Release it for a console, there is a 0% chance of me buying it.
This is a stategy based game inwhich should be made for the p.c stategy games are played better on the p.c for free movment and control. I annoyed that command and conquer was realsed on the xbox because that is a epic p.c game no stategy games should be on any romote controlled consoles the p.c is the best palce for all these games and i think halo wars sales would incresase if they were made for the p.c

Pc = As much as you want to upgrade it. For the price of an xbox I can upgrade my computer to push twice the graphics power. They make consoles for people because its easy for little kids. I shall download your game off the news groups. Then put up my xbox emulator on my pc. Then load your game and play it.

Download a good xbox emulator. This will emulate your pc an make the game think its an xbox.
Then Download halo wars xbox from a torrent, newsgroups or any other network.
Start up your emulator, load in the image file.
Presto, xbox game playing on pc.

Just wait a few months. Those sales are going to be so horrible and tank so badly they will release for pc so quick it won't even be funny. They are going to actually lose money restricting it. I thought they learned their lesson with Halo 2 and 3 but apparently not.

Considering I would only rate Halo Wars a B- for the XBox 360 (Yes I've played it) they better come out with a PC version. Honestly, a RTS on a console is about as good an idea as the lightsaber for the Wii. Sounds good, looks better, but when you actually go to use it you find out it's crap. Developers need to leave RTS games where they origionated, and strive, and that's on PC's. Honestly, Microsoft is yelling at the top of their lungs 'We've sold 1 Million Copies!' but I'd like to ask how many of those were to rental outlets (like Blockbuster Video) and how many were to actual console owners...
Sorry, slight addition... If you're wanting massive battles this game ain't for you anyway. The dam unit count is so low it barely competes with Starcraft. Halo Wars, if people didn't buy it just cause it is 'Halo', would be a MAJOR flop.

Anyhow. I have just bought this for my 360 and it's the first time I've ever played this sort of game - I'm more of a 1st person shooter. Got to admit, I kinda like it :)
My mate doesn't have a 360 and wanted this desperately for PC, so badly, after playing on mine that, in fact, he is considering buying a 360!! Guess MS might know how to make money :p

You are making a BIG mistake microsoft! not only are you the originators but there are teen and others like me who have a 360 but i can't buy cuz my dad takes the 360 were he works and thats in oklahoma and im in kansas! i tried it out in walmart i wanted it BAD and i am a strategic game lover but my mom won't let me because we don't get to play the 360 often. my dad only visits us for a week and i only get a week to play the 360. so basicly if you made it for the pc MORE people will buy cuz many either don't own the 360, can't afford to buy it, can't see any sense in buying the 360 and many more reasons. so PLEASE think over this AGAIN!!! and trust me when i say it will be BETTER is you published it on the pc. and don't you dare say the graphics are to high cuz you made supreme comanders graphics high as well (better than halo wars)
