Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will not have cross-platform interplay
By Casey Lynch Apr 3, 2007, 17:11 GMT

Sorry - PC and console gamers will have to play with themselves. Err... you know what we mean.
id Software’s Kevin Cloud confirmed that its upcoming multiplayer shooter/RTS Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will not feature cross-platform interplay between any of the 3 systems (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC) it will arrive on later this year.
"Console players will not play against PC players", said Cloud.
Cloud told CVG that crossplatform interplay is possible but requires too many tweaks to each platform in order to level the playing field, which we take to mean balancing out the mouse/keyboard vs. controller dilemma.
Cloud added, "Consoles require a certain [adaptation], and that wasn't something that we wanted to take on".
However, he did say that id wants to bring the Quake Wars console experience "up to speed with the PC version... We may do some adjustments to bots, but we want the experience to be the same on PC and consoles."
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is expected for release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year.
