Electronic Arts today announced that ARMY OF TWO has shipped to retail stores and will be on retail shelves on March 7 in North America and Europe. Launching on the PS3 and Xbox 3603, ARMY OF TWO is a 3rd-person co-op game that throws gamers into hot spots ripped from today’s headlines.
In Army of Two, players seamlessly move from an A.I. partner to live players. Gamers will battle online as they advance through six levels in the two-player co-op campaign mode. Players can also compete in two-on-two team battles in four distinct multiplayer versus maps.
”We’re focused on providing a great multiplayer experience for players as they engage in complex extraction and bounty missions that make them feel as if they are fighting alongside and against some of the toughest combatants the military world has to offer,” commented Alain Tascan, Executive Producer of Army of Two. “Allowing people to play online together through the campaign or versus mode, we’re encouraging players to approach a shooter game in a new light through close collaboration and a higher level of team work that no other game has offered.”
Unlike other co-op games, Army of Two not only focuses on winning, it’s about getting paid. As ex-Army Rangers now turned contractors for a Private Military Corporation, players spend their cash on more accurate and deadly weapons.
Players can use special co-op features to complete their paid missions including the new and unique Aggro feature that ensures their partner goes unnoticed when approaching enemies. Dependent on the intensity of their gun fire, distance, line of sight and type of weapon, players can put the enemy’s attention on one player while the other plans a sneak attack to take them out.
