Sony Ericsson's 'PlayStation phone' gets a price drop

The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY is now available for $99.99.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY, exclusively for Verizon Wireless, is now available for $99.99 with a new two-year agreement.
Powered by Android 2.3, Gingerbread, the Xperia PLAY comes pre-loaded with seven games including, Madden NFL 11, Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, The Sims 3, Star Battalion, Crash Bandicoot and Tetris. Customers will have more than 100 games optimized for Xperia PLAY available for download via V CAST Apps and Android Market by the end of the year.
The Xperia PLAY includes a slide out game pad revealing a directional keypad, dual
analog touch joystick, two shoulder buttons and the four PlayStation symbol keys: circle, X, square and triangle.
Additional features include a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with Adreno 205 GPU, Adobe Flash Player, 4-inch multi-touch display, 5 Megapixel rear facing camera, VGA front facing camera for still shots and video chatting, support for Google Mobile Services including Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Google Search, Google Maps, access to more than 200,000 apps available to download from Android Market, and Mobile Hotspot capability allowing you to share your 3G connection with up to five WiFi-enabled devices.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY will be available for $99.99 with a new two-year agreement beginning July 18 in store and online at VerizonWireless.com.
Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a smartphone data package. Nationwide Talk plans begin at $39.99 for monthly access and an unlimited smartphone data plan is $29.99 for monthly access.
