Native Netflix Support Comes to PS3, Wii
By Hector Cortez Oct 19, 2010, 2:53 GMT

Netflix users can now stream content through their PS3 or Wii without the need of Netflix disc.
Beginning today, Netflix members in the United States and Canada can stream content through their PlayStation 3 and Wii consoles with Netflix installed directly on the system menu. The Netflix disc that was used for instant streaming will no longer be required.
Netflix members who have a plan starting at $8.99 a month ($7.99 in Canada), a Wii or PS3 console and a broadband Internet connection can now instantly watch movies and TV shows streamed directly to their TVs by simply downloading the Netflix application through each console's download menu.
Xbox 360 owners have been able to access Netflix without a disc for quite some time, as Microsoft and Netflix had an exclusivity agreement. The agreement has expired, and as such, Wii and PS3 owners can now share in the integrated Netflix experience.
