Pokemon Black & White release date, promotion announced

Pokemon Black and Pokemon White will be released March 6, 2011.

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo are giving fans a jump start in Pokemon Black and Pokemon White with a special character distribution at all U.S. and Canadian GameStop stores. 

Starting today through February 6, 2011, players can add a Legendary Trio of Shiny Pokemon (Raikou, Entei, and Suicune) for their English language versions of Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver. Transfer any one of the Legendary Trio into Pokemon Black or White to unlock the chance to catch the Illusion Fox Pokemon Zoroark, a Pokémon that cannot be obtained through normal gameplay.

Here's what you'll need to obtain these Pokemon:

1) A Nintendo DS and a copy of the English language versions of Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver Version.

2) Players must have acquired the Pokédex within their game.

3) Players must have no more than two Wonder Cards in their possession.

4) Visit any U.S. or Canadian GameStop during the designated dates below:
   * Shiny Raikou - Jan. 3-9, 2011
   * Shiny Entei - Jan. 17-23, 2011
   * Shiny Suicune - Jan. 31-Feb. 6, 2011

Pokemon Black and Pokemon White will be released March 6, 2011.
