'Pokemon Black/White' Dominate Japan Sales, Set Pace For International Launch

Pokémon Black and Pokémon White feature never-before-seen Pokémon characters in a new region.
The Japanese launch of Pokémon Black and Pokémon White for the Nintendo DS is living up to high expectations, becoming the fastest selling DS games ever in Japan over the first week of sales.
Following a record-breaking 1.88 million presales, initial first week sales of the games have totaled 2.55 million with no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
Pokémon Black and Pokémon White introduce never-before-seen Pokémon characters featured in a new storyline set in a new region. Fans across Japan stood in long lines when the games launched last Saturday, awaiting the opportunity to become the first to play the latest entries in the long running series.
With an international launch set for spring 2011, Pokémon Black and Pokémon White are on pace to becoming the best selling in the Pokémon franchise’s history.
