Now, before a lack of interest causes you to click off this particular story, the fact that Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is being developed by BioWare (Mass Effect) might make it worth your while to stick around for a little while longer.
Expected to arrive exclusively on the world’s most popular videogames console before the close of 2008, BioWare brings an abundance of RPG experience to SEGA’s handheld adventure, having already produced award-winning titles such as Mass Effect, Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
“The relationship with BioWare reinforces SEGA’s increased emphasis on Western content development for Western audiences,” outlines SEGA.
In the past few years, similar Western-specific partnerships have been formed between the Japanese videogame publisher and the likes of Bizarre Creations (for The Club), and Monolith Productions (Condemned: Criminal Origins, Condemned 2: Bloodshot) to cover next-gen productions.
SEGA has also sought to drive its Western development through the acquisition of game studios including The Creative Assembly, Secret Level and Sports Interactive. It has also formed new gaming outfit the SEGA Racing Studio.
