With Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII on its way to PAL models of the PlayStation Portable having already left its positive mark on system sales in the Japanese market, can renowned publisher Square Enix similarly boost the sales performance of Nintendo’s clamshell DS with the PAL arrival of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates? Credit: Square Enix.Square Enix has today confirmed the March 21 PAL release of Ring of Fates, describing the handheld Nintendo DS exclusive as being "designed to be the most accessible Final Fantasy ever."While the latest entrant to the Final Fantasy portfolio will likely deliver all the series’ trademark action-based gameplay, along with "exciting 3D levels, exploration and puzzle solving," it will also provide a control interface that allows players to engage in real-time enemy encounters on their own terms without ever having to suffer through repetitive random battles.Moreover, Square is keen to highlight that Ring of Fates will enable up to four friends to join forces and play cooperatively through the game via the wireless functionality of the Nintendo DS.
"With a strong focus on action and exploration Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates offers an exciting, fast-paced adventure," trumpets John Yamamoto, president and CEO of Square Enix Ltd. "If you’ve never played a Final Fantasy game before, Ring of Fates is the perfect introduction and offers even more fun when played with friends."With hundreds of different items and costume combinations available to ensure a truly unique character build throughout the dual-screen RPG adventure, Ring of Fates boasts gorgeous 3D graphics and "an emotional audio score" that help create a world of beauty for the player to explore while following the fated story of two heroic twins as they battle to prevent the spread of the blood red moon’s malefic glow.Unlike the existing Japanese version, the PAL release of Ring of Fates includes four extra quests. The game will arrive playable in English, French, German, and Spanish.
