FX’s ‘Louie’ Season 4 Available Until Season 5 Premiere, April 9

TV News: In celebration of April Fools everywhere, FX is making every episode from last season of LOUIE available on FXNOW (http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/louie/episodes), from today through its Season 5 premiere on Thursday, April 9 @ 10:30pm ET/PT on FX.

Season 5 of FX’s award-winning comedy LOUIE, which premieres Thursday, April 9 at 10:30pm ET/PT, immediately following the series debut of The Comedians.

Created by Louis C.K., Louie is a comedy revolving around “Louie,” a semi-fictional version of Louis C.K. played by C.K. The show is filtered through the observational humor of “Louie.” Each episode puts a spotlight on “Louie’s” hectic life as a stand-up comedian and single father who shares custody of his two daughters, “Lilly” (Hadley Delaney) and “Jane” (Ursula Parker).

April 9 not only brings us S5 of Louie, but “The Comedians,” starring Billy Crystal and Josh Gad.  The two half-hour shows will comprise a single hour (“The Comedians” at 10 Eastern and “Louie” at 10:30) that is both smart well written and eagerly anticipated.

No spoilers, but birth, bathroom timing and everything that could happen to Louis C.K. by chance is something to look forward to in the new season.

“The Comedians”  is a interesting and quietly raucous affair, a single-camera documentary-style series about the development of an FX comedy series with two comedians – Billy Crystal, who everybody knows, and up and comer Josh Gad – where their age gap might as well be the Grand Canyon. Add comedy consigliere Mel Brooks, an episode where some legal pot is inhaled, (think of the song by the Clash, “Lost In The Supermarket”) and add a HILARIOUS Denis O’Hare guest starring as an FX chieftain who styles himself like the actual FX top man, John Landgraf and you have a new nugget to look forward to.   Their series has a “The Larry Sanders Show” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” vibe I love.
