FX’s fall delight “American Horror Story: Freak Show” will be visually jaw-dropping thanks to the finely tuned machine that is Ryan Murphy and his art department, including Emmy winners production designer Mark Worthington and set decorator Ellen Brill.
Brill has worked with Murphy since the “Nip/Tuck” days and has an eye for period pieces and furniture and setting a tableau to sell the story – allowing the actors to fully immerse their characters in the moment.
The Oct. 8 premiere date for “American Horror Story: Freak Show” is nigh, as summer has blazed us by quickly and FX has pumped artsy gorgeous teaser teaser trailers for the latest installment of Ryan Murphy’s miniseries, replete with the denizens of the Freak Shows.
The cleverly book-ended anthology series stars returning heavyweight and Emmy winners Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, plus Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts and Denis O’Hare.
Adding some flavor to this heavyweight cast is Michael Chiklis, Patti LaBelle, Finn Wittrock and John Carroll Lynch. Matt Bomer and Wes Bentley will guest star.
The locale of 1950s Jupiter, Florida is where and when a group arrives, mysterious carnies, human curiosities and a larger than life evil will be the backdrop to some outlandish story and powerhouse performances:
