‘Frog’ leaps over competition to win weekend box office

Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog” grossed an estimated $25 million to win the domestic box office weekend. Its current cumulative, which includes two previous weeks of smaller showings in New York and Los Angeles, stands at $27.9 million.

According to Variety, Warner Brothers’ “The Blind Side” came in at No.2 with $15.5 million for a domestic cumulative of $150.2 million.

Warner Brothers’ “Invictus,” the latest film from Clint Eastwood, grossed an estimated $9.1 million in its opening weekend to finish No.3.

Summit Entertainment’s “New Moon” finished No.4 with $8 million for a domestic cumulative of $267.4 million.

Disney’s “A Christmas Carol” continued to show strong legs as it finished No. 5 with $6.9 million for a domestic total of $124.5 million. Note the date on this article may be incorrect due to importing it from our old system.
