First Lady Michelle Obama was at a Democratic fundraiser when a lesbian activist confronted her and came ‘within a few inches’ of her face.
Mrs. Obama said, “Listen to me or you can take the mic, but I’m leaving. You all decide,” to a chorus of “no please stay” from the audience.
On Tuesday night, FLOTUS threatened to leave a private home of a wealthy lesbian couple after a gay-rights heckler interrupted her speech at a Democratic National Committee fundraising dinner
The “heckler” was activist Ellen Sturtz, who told ABC News: “It felt like she was within a few inches – in my face…”
At this Democrat National Committee fundraiser, 200 guests paid up to $10,000 to attend.
Sturtz reportedly had interrupted Obama to demand that her husband sign an executive order barring discrimination by federal contractors based on sexual orientation. She told ABC news she didn;t have the time to wait for action because of her age.
The crowd urged the first lady to stay after she threatened to leave, and she returned to the podium to continue speaking. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney later said that Mrs Obama handled the interruption ‘brilliantly.’
