Eva Mendes’ rehab stint was possibly all part of the job of being an actor.
Mendes may have been in rehab in preparation for a new movie, where she plays a Spanish drug lord, contends Star magazine.
Mendes entered Utah’s Cirque Lodge to “proactively” attend “to some personal issues,” claimed her PR flack.
“Queen of the South” will feature Mendes as Teresa Mendoza, as she takes off from Mexico for Spain after her drug-runner boyfriend is murdered.
Star quotes a famous acting coach who says this move is not uncommon for actors to acclimate to a role.
Mendes came on the scene strong after her first big-screen break when she appeared in the critically-acclaimed “Training Day.” She soon appeared in “Once Upon a Time in Mexico,” and in the comedy “Hitch” opposite Kevin James and Will Smith.
Mendes has also been seen in many commercials for Gushers, has a spokesperson deal for Revlon, and some liquor companies.
Mendes most recently appeared alongside Joaquin Phoenix in “We Own the Night.”
