Elton John and Dolce & Gabbana Are Warring Over Gay Parenting Remarks.
Elton John, a gay father to two children, is one of the first celebrities speaking out against gay Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana whose traditional family comments against gays having children were reported over the weekend.
Elton is calling for a boycott of the gay fashion designers, following their slams against same-sex parents in an interview with Italian news magazine Panorama.
“We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one,” D&G said.
They added, “No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.”
On Instagram, John writes: “How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic,’” John wrote. “And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF–a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children.”
He then added, “Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana”
Gabbana quickly responded through comments right on Elton’s Instagram post, calling him a “fascist” and then adding the hashtag “#boycotteltonjohn.”
Courtney Love turned to social media and threatened to “burn” all the items she already owns, adding “Boycott senseless bigotry!”
