By June L. Sep 8, 2011, 15:47 GMT

Here\'s the dish, GG fans: the 22 episodes of Season Four couldn\'t be juicier! And Gossip Girl is there to keep you clued in to the buzz, secrets and scandals of Manhattan\'s elite. Between Blair and Serena\'s thrilling summer in Paris, Chuck\'s new girlfriend and new identity, unexpected fatherhood for Dan, a power play for Bass Industries, Blair\'s too-haute-to-handle internship at W Magazine and a vicious conspiracy that threatens to ...more
“I thought college would be different, but it is just like high school, with more expensive textbooks.” - Serena Van der Woodsen
The saga continues as Serena and Blair take Paris by storm, and then return home to start college in the city. Will things be any different for the friends and sometimes enemies?
The style, the romance, who is being bad and who is just naughty….all the dirt is dished by Gossip Girl who keeps her audience enthralled and informed.
If you liked the first three seasons of Gossip Girl, it is highly likely that you will love Season Four. Beginning with a summer in Paris where Blair and Serena explore fashion and folly, see the sights and romance while never quite letting go of old friends and lovers back home.
Returning to start their college careers, the fact both girls are attending Columbia seems to spell danger and possibly an end to their friendship. Everyone else in their crowd appears to be facing outrageous growing pains as well, and it is fascinating to watch the rites of passage into young adulthood.
The most beguiling part of Gossip Girl is its audaciousness, over the top kind of stories, and the fact that most of the actors and actresses are nothing like their on screen personas. One would hope the youngsters who love the show are not taking these as serious role models, but rather see the characters as friends putting on a risqué play in fabulous costumes.
Bad behavior abounds, as well as tender and touching moments that pay tribute to relationships and family ties and most strongly to friendship.
Gossip Girl: Season 4 is presented on five discs containing all 22 Season 4 episodes. Included is a fold out color insert with synopses of the episodes and descriptions of the special features. It is illustrated with stills from the season.
Special features include unaired scenes for several of the episodes, a gag reel and featurettes “Bisoux a Paris!” a visit with cast and crew during the filming of the summer in Paris segments, and “Exposing Gossip Girl: The Making of Episode 418, “The Kids Stay in the Picture.”
If you have never seen the show, go back and watch it from the beginning, as the plot is complicated enough to make a novice viewer wish for a list of the players and how they are connected. If you are a fan or know a fan, this is a definite yes for the collection.
