Disney Nature presents its latest documentary in eye-catching Blu-ray. You won’t want to miss this---it is breathtakingly beautiful in high definition.
Divers and camera crews explore all of the world’s oceans, including the arctic. Swim with sharks and seals and dolphins and go inside the anemone, home to our favorite fish, the clown fish (not a nod to Pixar’s Nemo).
Nature can sometimes be brutal, but Disney keeps this at a nice ‘G’ rated. My seven year, who loves all things ocean-related, loved this and has watched it many times, including once in the theater.
Of course, the message is crystal clear as an unpolluted tropical ocean: we need to protect our oceans. Satellite imagery focuses on the trash and pollutants that come out of rivers and flow into the ocean, thus affecting the creatures that live there.
It is a message that needs to be heard, and it’s cleverly done.

Animals at play, sea lions chasing a porcupine puffer fish, animals babies with their mothers. Humpback whales breaking through the waves and splashing down. And yes, for the shark enthusiast, there is a brave diver swimming in front of a great white.
Jellyfish gracefully move through tropical waters and cuttlefish enhance coral reefs. It is an eye-catching experience and one well worth taking. At 84 minutes in length, the amazement never turns to boredom.
In this 2-disc combo pack, disc 1 is the Blu-ray and features and includes a fully interactive experience and filmmaker annotations.
Disc 2 includes the DVD and more bonus features such as “Make a Wave”, a video intended to make people aware, a featurette “Disney and Nature: Preserving the World We Share”, and “Deeper In the Oceans”, which includes select bonus videos.
With state of the art technology and underwater cameras, Disney brings us a world that most of us will never see so up close and personal. But you feel as if you were there, the camera work and filming is that good.
The high definition 1080p picture combined with high-tech is simply arresting.
Highly recommended, this will entertain and educate and amaze. It is well-worth the money. This being the second ambitious undertaking of Disney Nature (the first being Earth), the third is highly anticipated, and it will be about wild cats in Africa.
