What would you do if you met a fairy? Witness the historic moment when Tinker Bell first meets a human being, and it\'s not who you think. Years before meeting Wendyand the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell met Lizzy, a little girl with a steadfast belief in the power of pixie dust and the magic land of fairies. During the fairies\' summer visit to the flowering meadows of England, two verydifferent ...more
Tinker Bell and her friends from Pixie Hollow are anticipating a fine summer on the mainland at Fairy Camp.
But you know Tink, she simply cannot resist the technological wonders of the human beings, so what begins as an innocent exploration turns into an all out situation. It is the fairies to the rescue!
What child has never dreamed of seeing a real live fairy? These wonderful creatures always seem just out of our vision, and when you meet Tinker Bell and her friends, you can see why. These are clever, funny, resourceful and lightning quick little beings, voiced by Mae Whitman, Kristen Chenowith, Lucy Liu, Raven Simone, and others giving them depth and character.
I love Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue! It is a beautifully crafted work, with a strong story and one of the most beguiling child characters Lizzy Griffith the little human girl who gets to meet Tinker Bell. The story is just right, not too much silliness, enough to make youngsters laugh with Clank and Bobble, the fairy handymen, but concentrating more on the wonder and magic of meeting and communicating with a fairy.
Little Lizzy has problems, her father a scientist is just too busy to pay attention to her for very long, and he is not pleased with what he considers her pretend world of fairies.
In a brilliant bit of storytelling, Lizzy and Tinker Bell overcome problems to communicate, and Lizzy decides to create a field journal of fairies with the help of her new friend. The creativity of this may inspire young viewers to make their own field journals, as it looks like so much fun.
There are some tense moments, but nothing that will be worrisome to even the most tender hearted audience members as the film is given one of the best and most satisfying endings I’ve seen in a very long time.
Congratulations to Disney and all involved with this project for the quality of both the story and the visuals, using a fabulous cast of voice talents to bring the characters to life, having small teaching moments embedded within the plot and allowing a very happy ending to occur.
One small child of my acquaintance has already watched the film multiple times, and loves it more with each viewing.
Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue Combo Blu-Ray and DVD is a great way to own this treasure. Blu-Ray for the whole family to enjoy, and adults pay attention, it is well worth watching for the beauty of the scenes, the flawless production values and a great story.
The resident scientist at our house was charmed by the technology that produced amazing textures and fullness of the visuals, in addition he enjoyed the fact that Tinker Bell might be an engineer and that Dr. Griffith was such a dedicated scientist.
I loved the whole fairy house, meeting a fairy sequence…the writers certainly tapped into the dreams of many children with that story line. In addition, having this on DVD in this set gives you options for home viewings and travel. It comes with a great lineup of specials as well.
There are deleted scenes, there is a fairy field guide builder as more inspiration for little ones to be creative, there is a Design a Fairy House, the “How to Believe” music video and more.
With this wonderful film in our collection, I can’t wait to see what Tinker Bell and her buddies do next! Thank you Disney for giving us such a pleasure in this beautiful production!
