This week ER ends its long run on television with the final show. There will be many who are unhappy to see this stalwart series move on into television history. However, you can now get the Complete Season 10 on DVD to add to your collection, and have ER to watch whenever you want.
The Tenth Season of the veteran show had some fascinating story lines. Two new about to become doctors are on the scene, Neela Rasgotra (Parminder Nagra)from India and medical school in London and Abby Lockhart (Maura Tierney) who is moving up from nursing into being a medical student.
Life and work are not easy for these two women and things just keep happening to throw them two steps back for every progression they make. Dr. Kovac (Goran Visnjic) is missing and presumed dead in Africa, and Carter (Noah Wylie) after a less than happy homecoming goes back to try and find the body of his friend and co-worker.
Romano makes life miserable for everyone, including himself, until in one of those unforgettable series moments, the unthinkable happens. The return of Carter and Kovac should be happy, but in ER there is no time for happiness, and even less for anything but the most dramatic occurrences.
ER The Complete Tenth Season is presented in a single box keep case with multiple flip containers for the six disc set. An insert illustrated with stills from the season contains both program notes and synopses of each episode. These are nicely done, so that if you are a fan, you will remember the episode, and if you are new to the season, not too much is given away.
Selected episodes are enhanced with Outpatient Outtakes, which show various deleted scenes or different readings or tracks of the action that were not aired. Disc three has a featurette “Cutups” which is a wonderful gag reel. In a drama as serious as ER, it is fun to see our favorite medical personnel laughing.
Subtitles are available in English, Chinese and Portuguese. The series is presented in a matted widescreen format that enhances all the action of the ER, and the running time is 987 minutes for the episodes.
By the end of this season, much has changed, lawsuits have occurred, loves have been lost and others have been found. Lives have ended and others have taken a turn away from the expected. All in all, it is another great, exciting season of ER.
ER: The Complete Tenth Season is now available at Amazon. As of yet, there is not a release date for this version of the DVD in the UK. Visit the DVD database for more information.
