“Who put the Red Bull in Buddah’s doggie bowl?” - B-Dog

The endless appeal of adorable fuzzy talking doggies on a mad adventure without their human companions makes Space Buddies a fun film for all ages.

The sibling “Buds” Buddah, Mudbud, Budderball, Rosebud, and B-Dog take an amazing journey to outer space making friends along the way and saving the day.  In an energetic, colorful and kid friendly film, America’s favorite puppies provide just enough excitement and thrills as they travel to the moon.

The plot is simply based on a school field trip to Vision Enterprises where the lucky children will tour the facility and see the launch of a new space craft.  This ship is designed like a commercial air plane, but is able to land on the moon, and return after just a few days.

Apparently space travel is going to be the next big trend, and this will be the vehicle to accomplish the dream.  However, things are not “all systems go” at Vision.  The evil Dr. Finkle is planning to sabotage the ship and ruin Mr. Wolfson the project’s designer and take over the company for his nefarious plans.

The Buddies like all puppies are bored without their humans around, and Buddah has a terrific idea.  Thinking it should be great fun to get in on the action, the dogs stowaway and go with their owners to the launch.  At first following along on the tour, the Buddies are intrigued by all the high tech gizmos involved in Space Travel.  Curiosity is a major factor in their lives, and soon they end up onboard the craft in the cutest puppy spacesuits ever created.

Still following their noses, the puppies board the ship and are launched into outer space and on their way to the moon.  Best of all the Buddies are up for the challenges.  Zero gravity is hilarious to watch, and of course there are some great lines and jokes, which your children will repeat endlessly with a lot of giggling.  International good will is established with an emergency visit to a Russian space station and a new friend for the puppies.

The animal actors are charming, sweet, mischievous and carry the story.  If the humans seem less than stellar in both intelligence and humor, don’t blame the doggies.  The Buddies will tell you that people do their best to keep up with canine intellect, but it is difficult.

Space Buddies is presented on single disc with a running time of just over 84 minutes.  As one might expect Disney Studios has added to the feature a number of specials that will appeal to Buddy fans and dog lovers.  The Buddy Bloopers are outtakes that will keep audiences amused, especially the children.

Music extras has the Dancing in the Moonlight music video with Alyson Stoner.  Backstage Disney presents a Disneypeida on The Buddies’ Guide to Space Travel, and Buddy facts.

Parents be prepared to laugh again and again as your children will more than likely want repeated viewings of this latest Buddy adventure.

Space Buddies is now available at Amazon. It is available for pre-order at AmazonUK for a March 16th release. Visit the DVD database for more information.
