This is a GOOD movie. But it's far from perfect. I'm not the only one to have pointed out that it IS way too long. It's ponderous, examining its own navel way too often.

And frankly, the actual action sequences are often not as well executed as they could be. In particular, the car chase scene in the middle of the film is just not exciting. There are far too few establishing shots, you never know exactly where you are.

If someone can tell me-- without calling me a nitpicker-- what happened at the party after Batman and Rachel fell out of the window, then this might be a decent movie. But you can't, can you? Huge plotholes, huge gaps in narrative logic (the Joker can do whatever he wants JUST BECAUSE), globs of inane dialogue ('Either you die a hero....'-- we all know that one, don't we?-- just think of saying that to your grandmother with a straight face), and a passable, not great, performance from Mr. Ledger (gosh, he lisps, limps, and licks his lips. Genius. Uh, sure.) equal an average, nowhere-near-great action flick. Oh, and one that runs half an hour too long. Deeply overrated.

But I'd still like to know what the Joker did to all of Bruce's other guests after Bruce went out the window....

I can't help saying that this is a great movie! I bought a DVD from the local store, and use some software named DVDSmith and Any DVD Converter to transfer it to my iPod for sharing with my BF, and we enjoyed it so much!
