If you are an X-Files fan or if you want to get some good background material before seeing the new film, this is a great set to watch and own.
Collected are eight episodes that are absolutely “MUST SEE” if you wish to experience fully all the twists and turns of the new movie.
This selection was made by series creator Chris Carter and Executive Producer Frank Spotnitz as essential viewing.
From start to finish, this is fun! Yes, there are some of the creepiest grossest cases,( i.e. the Flukeman…yuck! Yes that one that made you want to gag the first time you saw it and in all subsequent viewings) but then there is also the series pilot.
If you haven’t seen that for awhile, it is an X-Files treat par excellence! First airing in September of 1993, it is a testimony to the acting skills of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. Their characters were already displaying some of the most identifiable and beloved traits of Scully and Muldar!
Even their unique chemistry as partners is recognizable in its infancy in the episode that hooked viewers for life.
The episode selections come from 1993 – 1999, and link in some ways you wouldn’t have imagined upon first viewing, and leave us with more questions.
The X-Files Revelations is presented in a two disc set, four episodes on each disc. Special Features are included on each disc as well.
Disc One contains an introduction to each of the episodes by Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz. There is also a trailer for the upcoming X-Files movie.
Disc Two has intoductions for its episodes, and then a WonderCon Talent Panel featuring David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz.
Five episodes are presented in full frame, three in widescreen. There is audio available in English and French, and subtitles available in English.
The running time is around 183 minutes for the episodes. This is a good collection for either introductory material, or to jog your memory before seeing the new movie.
Each episode in this set progresses the story and the character’s developments in such a way as to make us anxious to see what the new film will have by way of explanations……revelations and beyond.
Get ready to pay attention to these adventures from the beginning pilot, through some heavy times, bizarre unexplainable moments, and more. Of course The Lone Gunmen make an appearance!
