Ever since she was a young girl, Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) has been able to see and talk to dead people--earth bound spirits who have yet to cross over to the other side and who seek her help in communicating and resolving unfinished business with the living. Melinda sometimes has a hard time accepting her "gift," especially now that she\'s a newlywed and looking forward to starting her new ...more
Year Two for “Ghost Whisperer” starring Jennifer Love Hewitt is an entertaining creepy show that often tugs at the heartstrings as much as it sends shivers up your spine.
Melinda Gordon (Hewitt) meets and assists spirits in finishing their earthly tasks and moving on. These stories are, told in a manner that blends loss and grief with understanding and hope. Years ago anthropologist Margaret Mead said that the last great taboo in our society was talking about death, and with such shows as “Ghost Whisperer” this taboo is banished completely.
Co produced by famous medium James Van Praagh, and listed in PR materials as based on the experiences of real life spirit healer Mary Ann Winosewski, “Ghost Whisperer” has something beneath its fashionable showmanship. The viewer may be attracted by Hewitt’s wonderful retro wardrobe of airy floating fabrics, but will stay throughout the show to find out what happens to the suffering spirits.
Subject matter from this show has sparked several deep conversations amongst multi-generational households.
The second season DVD set is presented on six discs with a load of interesting special features. These include a Crystal Ball Mind game, A Conversation with the Living, Ghostly Visions, Grandview Graveyard, Melinda’s closet, and 8 webisodes from “The Other Side,” just to name a few. Also included are three special limited edition Tarot Cards.
Subject matter from this show has sparked several deep conversations amongst multi-generational households. The yuck factor of the spirits is a little strong for young children, but mature pre-teens and teenagers will most likely enjoy the stories.
Ghost Whisperer – Second Season is now available at Amazon. As of yet, there is not a release date for the UK. Visit the DVD database for more information.
