Popular cartoon series featuring Scooby Doo, a dog who joins Velma, Daphne, Freddie, and Shaggy on many quests to solve mysterious. Each mystery is new and unusual and involves the group stopping someone from wreaking certain havoc on the world. ...more
These 1978 episodes are a bit of a mystery to me as the first nine episodes aired during that year’s television season under the “Scooby Doo Where are You moniker.” The final seven episodes of that 1978 season found there way on to television under the show “Scooby’s All-Star Laff-a-lypics.”
Whatever the case I’m pretty sure that these episodes have been on network television or cable in some form or another since 1978. I guess what I’m trying to say is that these may not be as rare as the back of the box claims.
What’s on the back of the box:
“Originally aired as part of the Scooby’s All Stars series, these rarely seen but fabulous further Scooby Doo Where are You? Adventures of the sleuthing canine and his Mystery, Inc. pals will easily solve the case of any cartoon fan’s entertainment needs.

Any appearance of Scooby and Shaggy on DVD is most welcome and my kids have been devouring these episodes (cough, cough – not that Dad wasn’t also sharing in the watching).
Scooby Doo is presented in fullscreen as they were originally aired on television. Special features include the 20 minute featurette “Hanna-Barbera: From H to B.” It has interviews with Gordon Hunt, Tony Benedict, Mark Young, Jerry Eisenberg, Maggie Roberts, Iwao Takamoto, Andrea Romano, Joe Barbera, Bill Hanna, Willie Ito, Bob Singer, James Walker, Paul Sabella, Barbara Kruger, Iraj Paran, Hoyt Curtin, Kelly Ward, and Ed Collins.
The documentary doesn’t just cover Scooby and hits on the output of the iconic animation studio. There are also trailers for other Warner Brothers animated DVDs.
I don’t know how rare this season of Scooby is, but any episodes are welcome additions to your animation DVD library. The nice documentary about the Hanna-Barbara studio is also most welcome and is just the icing on the cake.
