Interesting stuff, but considering Black Christmas predates Halloween, it can hardly be said that Halloween spawned that particular holiday themed flick. Maybe it was the other way around. Whatever the case, the original Black Christmas can definitely be viewed as the first of the slasher genre, a tag typically applied to Carpenter's Halloween. Not to disrespect Micheal Myers, that's a phenomenal movie. I'm just saying we should give Bob Clark his dues.
