Those wacky Tanners are back for a fourth season on DVD. This time the big season event is that Jesse is getting hitched….if he can make it to the church on time.
From my Season 3 review: Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) lives with his three daughters, Michelle (the Olsen twins), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and D. J. (Candace Cameron). They also have two surrogate fathers in the form of Jesse (John Stamos) and Joey (Dave Coulier). Add to this mix Jesse’s fiancé Becky (Lori Loughlin) and their pending nuptials and you’ve got the recipe for comedic hi-jinks as only a sitcom can imagine.
Episode 1: Greek Week: Greek relatives visit and bring an unusual traditions with them.
Episode 2: Crimes and Michelle’s Demeanor: Michelle wraps Danny around her little finger and Jesse buys something spectacular for Becky’s third finger, left hand.
Episode 3: The I.Q. Man: When Jesse and Joey quit their jobs, Danny becomes their business partner.
Episode 4: Slumber Party: There’s a mother/daughter slumber party, but Stephanie wonders what to do if you don’t have a mother.
Episode 5: Good News, Bad News: Danny asks Jesse and Joey to create a TV commercial for his TV show, the bad news is that they accept.
Episode 6: A Pinch for a pinch: Jesse’s tip on handling a bully lead to a pinching match between Michelle and a classmate.
Episode 7: Viva Las Joey: Joey’s Las Vegas gig draws a very important person to the audience - his disapproving father. Wayne Newton guest stars.
Episode 8: Shape Up: D.J. tries to get supermodel skinny to fit into a bikini for Kimmey’s pool party.
Episode 9: One Last Kiss: Jesse attends his high school reunion and meets up with his former flame.
Episode 10: Terror in Tanner Town: Danny invites his new girlfriend over for dinner, but her son is soon driving everyone in the Tanner house crazy.
Episode 11: Secret Admirer: An unsigned love note arrives at the Tanner house, but which one of the girls is it supposed to go to?
Episode 12: Danny in Charge: Danny has the experience of being a single parent when Jesse and Joey go out of town.
Episode 13: Happy New Year: Joey finds his dream girl via a video dating service.
The big day finally arrives
Episode 14: Working Girl: D.J. wants some expensive tennis shoes and takes an after school job to buy them.
Episode 15: Ol’ Brown Eyes: Danny decides to sing a song with the band at D.J.’s fundraiser, much to her terror.
Episode 16: Stephanie Gets Framed: Stephanie is bummed out when she must start wearing glasses. Then Steve Urkel (Jaleel White) pops up with some helpful advice.
Episode 17: A Fish Called Martin: Michelle gives her new fish Martin a fatal bubblebath.
Episode 18: The Wedding, Part 1: Jesse decides to go on one more adventure before the wedding – skydiving.
Episode 19: The Wedding, Part 2: Jesse goes from being stuck in a tree from his skydiving adventure to the jailhouse, but will he make it to the wedding?
Episode 20: Fuller House: Jesse returns from his honeymoon, but is moving out of the house and into Becky’s house. Can the Tanners survive the breakup?
Episode 21: The Hole in the Wall Gang: D.J. and Stephanie knock a whole in the wall and try and cover it up.
Episode 22: Stephanie Plays the Field: Stephanie has do decide whether she’s going to throw the Little League game so her boyfriend on the opposing team will win.
Episode 23: Joey Goes Hollywood: Joey and the family travel to Hollywood where he’s starring in a new TV series with Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon.
Episode 24: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun: Becky wants to be D.J. buddy but has to act like a parent when D.J. sneaks out of the house.
Episode 25: The Graduates: Danny is feeling older, so what’s the solution? Dating a younger woman of course.
Episode 26: Rock the Cradle: Jesse is going on tour with his band, but Becky has a secret – she’s pregnant!
Season Four continues the comic misadventures of the residents of the Tanner house. It’s good old fashioned family fun and those interested in such don’t have to look very far. What this season does have is the big wedding show with Jesse and Becky - that is if Jesse can get to the church to complete the nuptials.
This is supposed to convince Stephanie to wear glasses?
They do put some morals into the stories (don’t sneak out of the house or give a goldfish a bubble bath) however most of the shows have the goofy comedy that we’ve come to expect. This season even has a crossover show with sitcom Family Matters that features the annoying Steve Urkel (you may love him, but he always grated on me).
Full House Season 4 is presented in fullscreen as it was originally shown on television. Where this set lets down is in the special features department – there aren’t any. The cast is still around and interviews or something would’ve definitely been appreciated. Season 3 did have something by the way of special features (though it was rather lame).
Full House fans continue you’re collecting and those in the mood for family entertainment can also apply. Unfortunately, the lack of any sort of special feature is disappointing.
Full House – The Complete Fourth Season is now available at Amazon . As of yet, there is not a release date for the UK. Visit the DVD database for more information.
