STEVEN SPIELBERG’S ICONIC MASTERPIECE

JAWS 30th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL EDITION DVD SURFACES
FROM 29TH AUGUST 2005

Academy Award® winner Richard Dreyfuss and Academy Award® nominees Roy Scheider and Robert Shaw star in this terrifying thriller based on Peter Benchley’s best-selling book of the same name, about an enormous, man-eating shark that terrorizes a quiet beach resort.  Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, one of the most enduring action-suspense films of all time, comes to DVD from 29th August, 2005, in a brand-new 30th Anniversary Special Edition, courtesy of Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd.

Roy Scheider is Martin Brody, a former New York cop who recently traded in the stresses of the Big Apple for a quiet life as the police chief of a sleepy New England beach town. But when the body of a possible shark victim washes ashore, Brody is forced to weigh the safety of bathers against the financial concerns of the mayor (Murray Hamilton), who opposes closing the town’s beaches during peak tourist season.

This critically acclaimed film produced by Richard D. Zanuck and David Brown saw composer John Williams win an Academy Award® for his famously suspenseful score. The film also took home Oscars® for Best Editing and Best Sound.  Jaws smashed all previous box office records and remains one of the highest grossing films in motion picture history.

Plunge into the depths of this special two disc DVD, packed with gripping never seen before extras including “A Look Inside Jaws”, a special two hour documentary giving you a complete glimpse into the making of the film, “From the Set 1974”, an insiders look at life on the set, featuring a never seen before interview with Steven Spielberg and some fantastic deleted scenes.

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Jaws, Universal Pictures are giving you a chance to rediscover the terror and adventure of this modern cinema classic by releasing a 2 disc Special Edition DVD and a limited edition Collector’s box set from 29th August 2005.  Both of which reminds us why Jaws was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar® and forever changed the way entire generations thought about swimming in the ocean.
