From Monsters and Critics.com DVD News LionsGate has announced these upcoming DVD releases of Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns and Tyler Perry's House of Payne: Volume Two on July 1st. Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns: Produced, written and directed by Perry, Meet the Browns is based on his popular stage production of the same name and was hailed "lively and funny" by The Washington Post. Starring Academy Award nominee Angela Bassett (What's Love Got to Do with It), Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns is a charming story about the joys of family and the possibility of second chances. The 2-Disc Special Edition DVD includes four original featurettes, while the Blu-ray Disc contains those same four featurettes plus three additional featurettes, and both come with a standard-definition digital copy of the feature film. The standard single-disc DVD will include a Widescreen and Full Screen version of the film. Synopsis: Brenda, a single mother living in inner city Chicago, has been struggling for years to make ends meet and keep her three kids off the street.
