Lost: The Complete First Season is set to crash on DVD shelves on Sept. 6th in a massive seven-disc set that is loaded with more than eight hours worth of special features.
The show, which was created by J.J. Abrams and earned 12 Emmy nominations this year, features an ensemble cast that fight for survival following a plane crash on a mysterious island.
Stripped of everything, the 48 survivors scavenge what they can from the plane for their survival. The show centers around a group of the survivors, who all seem to be hiding something, that band together to stay alive on an island that seems to hold many secrets – including the howls of mysterious creatures.
The DVD will feature exclusive bonus features that will provide audiences with a deeper look inside the show – including unaired Lost flashbacks. Other features include “Welcome to Oahu: The Making of the Pilot;” “The Genesis of Lost;” “Designing a Disaster;” and commentaries with the cast and the creators.
Fans of the show will also be able to enjoy the original casting tapes of some of the show’s actors; deleted scenes; island secrets; and bloopers from the set.
The episodes, which has a suggested retail price of $59.99, will also be presented in widescreen with a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Soundtrack.
The DVD’s release date is timed to give new and existing fans an opportunity to catch up on all 24 episodes before the second season of the show premieres at 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, on the ABC Television Network.
