Carlito’s Rise to Power coming straight to DVD

Universal has announced that Carlito’s Way: Rise to Power, the sequel to 1993’s Carlito’s Way, will be headed straight to DVD release and be available to own on September 27 in the US and Dec. 12 in the UK.The film, which stars Mario Van Peebles, Luis Guzman, Jay Hernandez, and Sean Combs, follows Edwin Torres’ books and details the life of Carlito Brigante and his rise from street criminal to a major player in the heroin market in Harlem.As of yet, there are no details of the disc special features, but it will be presented in anamorphic widescreen and dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. The DVD can be pre-ordered at Amazon for the US release date. As of yet, it has not been listed at AmazonUK. Visit the film’s database for more information.
