By M&C News Jul 19, 2005, 18:00 GMT

Get ready for the ride of your life as 24 Season 4, the critically acclaimed and award-winning TV show starring Kiefer Sutherland, launches onto DVD on August 8th 2005 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. With an all-new cast and a brand new threat to the city of Los Angeles, the wait is finally over for the eagerly anticipated next instalment of this phenomenal series!

Meet Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland, Flatliners, Young Guns), former Special Agent for the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU). Jack is now working for the Secretary of Defence, James Heller (William Devane), but what starts off as an ordinary day soon turns into another dramatic twenty-four hours as he is thrust back into the workings of CTU.

Jack arrives at CTU to meet with new Director Erin Driscoll (Alberta Watson) just minutes after a train bombing, and soon becomes embroiled in efforts to thwart a second attack rumoured to be planned by Turkish terrorists. When the Secretary and his daughter Audrey (Kim Raver) are kidnapped and their motorcade attacked, Jack is temporarily re-instated as a CTU agent to assist in their recovery and stop the terrorists.

As the rescue mission develops, CTU must determine who is holding the secretary hostage, find the terrorists who are behind the plot, and establish their ultimate plan. Jack’s findings lead him to a Turkish Muslim family who are planning a major nuclear attack, led by Navi Araz (Nestor Serrano, The Day After Tomorrow, Runaway Jury) with the help of his wife Dina (Shohreh Aghdashloo) and son Behrooz (Jonathan Ahdout).

A nuclear explosion isn’t the only threat they are faced with - Jack and the team must use all their courage and cunning to save the city, and the country, from a major terrorist attack. With the addition of new CTU members Agent Curtis Manning (Roger R Cross) and Agent Edgar Stiles (Louis Lombardi), the team is strong and ready to fight back against those that would destroy them. However, the clock is ticking and time is not on their side…

The 7-disc DVD box set of 24 Season 4 features over 40 deleted and extended scenes plus three featurettes introducing and examining the phenomenon of 24 to new and old fans alike as well as taking an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the CTU set.
