DEPRAVED... CORRUPT... THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION OF VIDEO NASTIES!
Six of the most shocking and notorious movies ever to see the light of day have been gathered together in the ultimate DVD boxed set collection of Video Nasties, Anchor Bay UK's seven-disc BOX OF THE BANNED.
This specially priced (£29.99) seven-disc collection brings together, for the first time ever, six of the movies which were originally banned in the UK under the Obscene Publications Act during the years 1983-84 - Sam Raimi's THE EVIL DEAD, Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS, Meir Zarchi's I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, Abel Ferrara's THE DRILLER KILLER, Wes Craven's THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT and Romano Scavolini's NIGHTMARES IN A DAMAGED BRAIN.
The six films in this remarkable collection all come bearing the original artwork used for their original video releases during the Video Nasty era, giving this release must-have mass appeal to serious collectors and horror fans alike.
BOX OF THE BANNED also includes a special collector's booklet and a seventh disc featuring David Gregory's brand new feature-length documentary BAN THE SADIST VIDEOS.
Taking its name from a Daily Mail headline published at the height of the video nasty media frenzy, BAN THE SADIST VIDEOS is a fast-paced, incisive look at the Video Nasty hysteria of the early 1980s and its aftermath, concentrating on the most notorious cases and exploring the reasons why the moral panic began. It also looks at how censorship has slowly evolved since that time, finally bringing us up to date with the rehabilitation of most of the former 創asties' which are now legally available, uncut and BBFC approved. Combining archive news footage, film clips and brand new interviews with many of the important figures on both sides of the nasty debate such as video distributors, filmmakers, retailers, politicians, moral guardians and experts on the subject, BAN THE SADIST VIDEOS tells for the first time the full story behind this very British problem. This exclusive 47-minute documentary is only available as part of the BOX OF THE BANNED collector's boxed set.
The seven-disc collection BOX OF THE BANNED (cert. 18) will be released on DVD (£29.99) by Anchor Bay UK on 19th September 2005.
'Box of the Banned' is available for pre-order via
