Captain Jonathan Archer (Quantum Leap’s Scott Bakula) and his crew travel the galaxy in their experimental starship, the Enterprise NX-01, bringing humanity into contact with numerous new alien races for the first time. Building on the phenomenal success of the Star Trek motion picture, First Contact, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE takes its audience back two hundred years to the 22nd Century. Stardates are many years away and the weapons carried by Archer and his crew are a far cry from the phasers used by Captain James T. Kirk.
STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE grabs the viewer from its very first scene when a Klingon spaceship crashes, leading to a confrontation between the humans and their Vulcan advisors. The developing relationship between Archer and the stunning lead female, T’Pol, will also have viewers on the edge of their seats throughout the season. In the stunning conclusion to the season, Enterprise is recalled to Earth after its actions seem to cause the destruction of a colony…
As well as deleted scenes and out takes, the special features also contain a commentary on the pilot episode by creators Brannon Braga and Rick Berman. In addition, there are two brand new featurettes and exclusive interviews with the cast and producers, including a profile of Scott Bakula and an examination of Admiral Forrest (played by Trek veteran Vaughn Armstrong). The UK DVD also includes a documentary examining the phenomenon of the Star Trek conventions, with contributions from actors and fans.
