Starring Harry Connick, Jr. and young newcomer Shawn Salinas, MICKEY adds more than hot dogs and peanuts to the traditional baseball flick with an intriguing, suspenseful plot sure to keep family audiences intrigued all the way to the Little League World Series finale! The DVD includes insightful features such as interviews with John Grisham and commentary by the film’s director Hugh Wilson (Guarding Tess, The First Wives Club), a behind-the-scenes still gallery, the theatrical trailer and more. The DVD will carry a SRP of $19.98.
Connick (Will & Grace, Independence Day) plays Tripp Spence, a Virginia widower whose financial woes lead him to relocate with his son and assume new identities while dodging the IRS. His thirteen year old son, Derrick (Salinas) is a skilled Little League pitcher who’s forced to give up baseball as the two flee to Las Vegas. Derrick’s new identity as “Mickey” makes him a year younger and eligible to play in the Vegas league as a 12 year old. Father and son believe the fraud will end with the final game of the regular season, but neither could have ever imagined Mickey’s dream season as he leads the Las Vegas league all-stars to the pinnacle of youth sports: the Little League Baseball World Series!
