There are two camps of opinion for "I Spit On Your Grave."

There is my camp, one that enjoyed the far-fetched revenge tale of "SAW"-like proportions waged by a brutalized "everywoman." 

Then there are the haters, like Roger Ebert, who called the film “Sick, Reprehensible and Contemptible…”

Our protagonist, Jennifer Hills, was on a work sabbatical/vacation, minding her own business in a remote area of Louisiana.  She was preyed upon by a sadistic group of townies that had nothing better to do than terrorize, torture and try to kill this innocent young woman.

Bottom line: Women know the score.

In reality, it is likely that women and girls are tortured, raped, murdered, hacked up, and left for dead in these sorts of horrific crimes, and rarely, if ever, get revenge, justice or away from their attackers.

Ask Natalee Holloway, or the Black Dahlia. Or sit and have a chat with writer James Ellroy. Historically and until the end of time, women are prey, end of story.

This film is a hyper-dramatized "what if" that takes a small-framed woman, and has her come back in grand, Godfather style to pick each torrnentor off, one by one, in clever, medieval-style executions.
