The past can keep us in its grip.

From Image:

"On June 29, Image Entertainment looks to the past, present and future with the dark comedy Don McKay, executive produced by and starring Thomas Haden Church.  Fresh from creating a buzz at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival and a US theatrical release this winter, Don McKay is Jake Goldberger’s directorial debut:  a twisting, shocking ride with a hint of Coen-esque humor."

Premise

Thomas Haden Church is Don McKay: a janitor haunted by the memories of a terrible mistake he made when he was a teenager.

Suddenly, after 25 years of self-imposed exile, he hears from Sonny Elizabeth Shue his ex-girlfriend and still the love of his life.  She is dying and wants to spend her final days with him.

Although it means returning to the site of the tragedy, Don rushes to her side.   He finds her as desirable as ever…yet different.  Is it only the sickness that has changed her?  Or is it the strange pall that looms over the town?

Sonny is jealously guarded by her doctor, Lance Pryce (James Rebhorn) and Maria (Melissa Leo), her live-in nurse.  Both are suspicious of Don, leading to accusations, altercations, attacks and the worst of consequences.

Don McKay is an edgy combination of lies and promises; reason and madness.  Nothing is what it seems.  No one can be trusted.  Caught in a web of secrets and deception, Don must escape his past misfortunes.

Bonus features on Don McKay DVD and Blu-ray™ include:
