20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced the arrival of Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile on Blu-ray. The two films will be released on Oct. 14th with the suggested retail of $39.98.

Earning a Golden Globe for her performance, Kathleen Turner stars as a romance novelist who lives vicariously through the characters she creates. Michael Douglas plays a reckless soldier of fortune, living a life she can only imagine. Thrown together by chance, they share a non-stop thrilling treasure hunt adventure that could come straight out of Joan’s novels in Romancing The Stone and its sequel Jewel Of The Nile.
Romancing the Stone Synopsis:
Timid romance/adventure novelist Joan Wilder (Turner) finds herself thrust into real-life adventures in South America as she learns that her sister is being held captive in Colombia by Ralph (DeVito) and Ira (Norman). Isolated and lost in the jungle, Joan is rescued by swashbuckling opportunist Jack (Douglas), and through a series of hilarious adventures, opposites attract and love is found within this unlikely couple.
Jewel of the Nile Synopsis:
Six months after Joan and Jack sailed off into the sunset, their relationship is looking rocky… at least until they encounter the mystery of the jewel. After Joan accepts an invitation to visit a Middle Eastern country as a guest of a sheik, she is abducted and finds herself involved in the mystery surrounding the jewel. Jack arrives to save her with their hot-tempered foe Ralph still in pursuit.
The intrepid trio must brave the raging storms and fierce desert tries, whirling dervishes and the cavernous labyrinth of the evil Omar to solve this mystery and discover that life doesn’t always live up to romantic fantasies.
