Nim’s Island debuts on DVD on August 5th from Fox Home Entertainment and Walden Media and M&C’s giving away five copies!

A fun-filled adventure comedy and heartwarming story of self-discovery and friendship Nim’s Island stars Oscar-nominee Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), Jodie Foster (Flight Plan) and Gerard Butler (300).

Talented young actress Breslin plays the lead role of Nim, a spunky girl living a high-tech Robinson Crusoe existence on a remote island with her scientist father and her exotic animal friends…an amazing life that mirrors that of her favorite literary hero – Alex Rover, the world’s greatest adventurer.

When Nim’s father goes missing at sea during an expedition leaving Nim alone on the island, a twist of fate brings her together with Alexandra (Foster), the reclusive author of the Rover books. Now, together they must draw courage from their fictional hero, Alex Rover, and find strength in one another to protect Nim’s Island and discover they can both be so much more than they ever dreamed!

Based on the beloved children’s novel by Wendy Orr and directed by the husband and wife team of Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett (Little Manhattan), Nim’s Island is an “exhilarating and enchanting family picture” (San Francisco Chronicle) that delighted audiences with an inspirational tale of becoming the hero of your own story.
