Bond, James Bond. 007. The world’s greatest secret agent is headed to Blu-ray with the release of six classic James Bond films. The films will debut on Blu-ray on Oct. 21st in North America and on Oct. 20th in the UK from MGM and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Dr. No, Die Another Day, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, From Russia with Love and Thunderball arrive on Blu-ray in OctoberTimed to hit store shelves with the worldwide theatrical release of the 22nd Bond film Quantum of Solace (which will feature Daniel Craig in the Bond role) in November, the new Blu-ray owners can look forward to Dr. No, Die Another Day, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, From Russia with Love and Thunderball. In a press release from MGM and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, MGM’s Eric Doctorow stated: “With Quantum of Solace on the horizon, Bond fever is building once again and there is no better time to re-introduce these beloved films featuring the best picture and sound quality available today to the 60 million+ HD-capable households worldwide.” The James Bond films are considered one of the world’s most successful film franchises, and has generated more than one billion in global box office gross. The franchise boasts an astounding 98% global consumer awareness. Casino Royale (which was Craig’s first time in the Bond role) arrived on Blu-ray in March, 2007, and continues to be one of the best-selling Blu-ray releases to-date.Quantum of Solace picks up right after the events of Casino Royale and will see Bond hunting down the terrorists responsible for the death of his love Vesper Lynd.
