Something deadly comes to life on July 8th when the terrifying thriller The Ruins debuts as an unrated DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment and M&C’s giving away five copies! 

The film will also be released unrated on Blu-ray.

Based on the gripping best-selling novel by Scott Smith, The Ruins showcases a hot young cast including Jonathan Tucker (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Jena Malone (Donnie Darko), Shawn Ashmore (X-Men: The Last Stand), Laura Ramsey (She's the Man) and Joe Anderson (Across the Universe). 

Synopsis:
     
When a group of tight-knit college friends visit the site of an undisturbed Mayan ruin, they stumble into an ancient trap where an unspoken evil is waiting to drag its victims into an endless nightmare.  As fear and paranoia eat away at their sanity, their only chance at escape is to commit the unthinkable.

The Ruins is presented on DVD in widescreen enhanced for 16:9 TVs with Dolby Digital English 5.1 Surround and English, French and Spanish subtitles. 

The unrated Blu-ray disc is presented in 1080p high definition with English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD and English, English SDH, French, Spanish and Portuguese subtitles. 

The unrated DVD and unrated Blu-ray discs include the following special features:

Never-Before-Seen Alternate Ending
Commentary with director Carter Smith and editor Jeff Betancourt
The Making of THE RUINS—the cast and crew provide insight into the transformation of Scott Smith’s novel to the screen.
Creeping Death—reveals the process of bringing the deadly vines to life and the practical special effects that were used.
Building THE RUINS—provides a detailed look at the set and location for the film.
