National Treasure 2 brings Mt. Rushmore to Venice Beach!

Attention all southern California residents, and tourists who are visiting:  Mt. Rushmore Comes to Venice Beach, California on May 19!

10 FEET TALL.  12 FEET DEEP.  25 FEET WIDE.  400,000 POUNDS OF SAND!

This is to celebrate the May 20th DVD Launch of National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets, directed by Jon Turteltaub, and starring Nicolas Cage.

National Treasure 2, starring Cage, Jon Voight, Helen Mirren, Justin Bartha and Diane Kruger, comes to DVD and Blu-ray May 20th from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

The monument is one of the movie’s many awe-inspiring worldwide backdrops and plays a pivotal role at the exciting conclusion of the hit action movie.

Todd Vander Pluym, the world’s foremost sand sculptor, comes to Venice Beach to create a giant replica of Mt. Rushmore, the American monument to four early U.S. presidents, (Washington Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln).

After 2 days of gathering 400,000 pounds of sand the measurements of this sculpture is expected to exceed 10' tall x 25' wide x 12' deep.

Pluym and his team of professional and master sculptors have crafted more than 1,600 sculptures and holds nearly 200 sand sculpting titles.

Over the years, Todd’s work has been featured in major newspapers and magazines, such as the Los Angeles Times, People and the Smithsonian magazine, and on many television shows, including The Today Show and Good Morning America.

WHEN:   Saturday, May 17, 2008          7:00am to 8:00pm       
             Sunday, Mat 18, 2008             7:00am to 8:00pm
             Monday, May 19, 2008            7:00am to 8:00pm

The sculpture is scheduled to be completed Monday afternoon and Time Lapse footage being taken from start to finish and will be available on request.

                                                                                                                        National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets comes to DVD, two-disc Gold Collection DVD and Blu-ray Disc on May 20, 2008 from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.  With a treasure trove of bonus features.
