Flywheel arrives on DVD with a director’s cut

By M&C News Sep 3, 2007, 17:14 GMT

From Alex Kendrick, the director of the phenomenally successful Facing the Giants, comes the award-winning family film Flywheel: Director’s Cut, available on DVD November 13th from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for the suggested retail price of $19.94.

Writer/director/actor Kendrick assembled an impressive cast, including familiar faces from Facing the Giants, for this inspirational story of the spiritual redemption of a chronically dishonest used car salesman.

Flywheel became a film festival favorite where it won numerous awards, including Best Feature Film at the 2004 Christian WYSIWYG Film Festival, the Bronze Crown at the 2004 ICVM Crown Awards, and Best Screenplay at the 2004 Sabaoth International Film Festival.

Synopsis:

Many unsuspecting victims have fallen prey to the smiling face and hasty promises of used car salesman Jay Austin (Kendrick). Austin does everything his way until his dishonesty and manipulation are repeatedly exposed. Like many men, he becomes disgusted by the masks he wears and lies he tells.

While having a classic convertible repaired, Austin begins a humorous and inspiring journey to win back the hearts of his wife, his son, and his community. In every man’s life, there can be a turning point. When Jay Austin makes his turn, he never looks back.
