When I was around six years old, I sang the story of this book to my father. I don't know why? He loved the story, and the song. It is really one of my nicest memories. I recently was able to see the movie for the first time in twenty years, and loved it as much as I did as a kid.
FYI, only copies purchased through Peter S. Beagle's business manager will generate any royalties for him. More information here: http://www.conlanpress.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc
I will be interviewing Peter S. Beagle Wed. Jan 24th on my live talk show, The Biblio File. Hope to see you there. (If you missed it, you can download it as a podcast.)
I remember watching The Last Unicorn when i was about 5 years old. It was one of my favorites. I watched it so much that I knew every word and every song. I drove my parents nuts! Since I had this movie on VHS, it was very difficult to try to watch over the years. I was able to get it to play for my daughter, who is 5 years old. She loved every minute. One day we were at Wal-Mart and she saw the 25th anniversary on DVD and begged me to get it for her. Being such a fan of it when I was young, I couldn't resist. Over the last year, she has watched it at least 3 or 4 times a month. Sometimes I'll sit down with her and watch it. I never realized for a long time that America did the soundtrack, and I've always been a fan of their music. My daughter knows all the words and sings along to every song when she watches The Last Unicorn.
this story is my fauvorite of all films and cartoons . when i was 5 year old i was looking it every day and now, when i have seen it it brings me memories ...i love it !!!
