Taking flight on DVD January 30th from MGM Home Entertainment, Flyboys soars onto DVD in a single disc version for the suggested retail price of $29.98, and a two-disc Special Edition for the suggested retail price of $39.98. The film is also being released in a Blu-Ray edition for the suggested retail price of $39.98.
The film is a story of courage and selfless valor, set against a cloudless backdrop of high-flying action. Inspired by the true story of the legendary Lafayette Escadrille, the film is directed by Academy Award-winner Tony Bill (Best Picture, The Sting, 1974) and stars a who’s who of today’s most versatile young actors, including James Franco (Spider-Man 3), Martin Henderson (The Ring), as well as the venerable international cinema veteran, Jean Reno (The Da Vinci Code).
In 1917, prior to the official entry into the war by the United States, the Allied powers of France, England and Italy were on the ropes against the German juggernaut. Craving thrills and seeking purpose, a small group of Americans came overseas to do their part, taking the war effort into an audacious new theater of conflict high above the conventional battlefield.
